Colonial Parkway Update!
Doug Holroyd, our York County, District 1, Supervisor attended our board meeting this week and gave us an important update on the status of the National Park Service's construction on the Colonial Parkway.
- We will be able to travel from QL to Yorktown from mid-June, in time for the Sail Yorktown Festival (June 12-14) and will remain open through July 4th weekend.
- NPS will still have some remaining work to do and will then close portions of the Parkway again through November 2026.
- However, Mr. Holroyd is working with NPS to see if they can keep the QL to Parkway Dr segment open permanently.
For more information on this project and other things with NPS, click here.

Committee members began installation of boat racks on the Lake for watercraft. This will allow members to move their canoe, kayak or paddleboard to an elevated rack and OFF the ground, greatly improving the mobility, access and appeal of the access areas! A separate accommodation for larger jon boats is planned for the fall.

We now have a GloFiber Sales Consultant working with QL. Big thanks to Skip Ferebee for organizing a GloFiber liaison for us!

Greg Parkey - GloFiber Sales Consultant
 gregory.parkey@glofiber.com  Sales: 540.331.7630

Here are the steps to acquire service (if available):
 1. Check availability via website by entering your address to determine service access. If unavailable, you can check with Greg to find out when service will be accessible to you.
 2. After service is ordered, schedule a date to have the box connected to the outside of your house. You do not have to be at home for this. There is NO CHARGE or FEE.
 3. Schedule a GloFiber tech to wire your house from the exterior box to the location of your current modem, following the path of your existing coax cable and plate. GloFiber will install a fiber modem. You can use your existing router and plug it into the new fiber modem. Everything will remain the same and stay intact from your router outwards.
 4. Check the model and capability of your existing router to ensure it can handle/distribute the speed level you've purchased. This part is critical. If your modem works at the speed you've purchased and you own the modem, no additional steps are needed.
 5. If you rent a modem from Cox, GloFiber will provide a router for free for one year, and then a monthly rental fee will be charged (just like Cox if you rent their modem). Glo Fiber website
